Biomimicry Meets the Art of Permaculture &
Prophetically Stradles Generations:
It’s another Bioneers Salon, we are stretched taking in thrilling cause & effect, what bullet trains cracking out of tunnels learn from kingfishers slicing, soundless for prey into the ocean, utilizing that bullnose pincer shaped beak & voila, Biomimicry has made another coup, translating the effortlessness of Nature, assuring its needs without waste or negative consequence to eliminate archaic engineering foolishness. Armies of Army Core of Engineer straight-laced use of the straight line channelling of water into floods finally gets its infamous recognition.
We see how streamlining according to the river’s will, in the life of moments veering up/down/over deep here, under tight curve there follows a deeply ancient intelligence. We see how this natural intelligence follows through with similar remarkable correctness when designed in for human living. Biomicry & Permaculture share the processes & ethics to enable this seeing into doing: observation & “quiet the cleverness.”
This lesson of nature becomes a seeing into being of complimentary human inventions that, in conserving energy or space or work or effort answers the elegance of natural intelligence. On my way out, noticing a past Permaculture student I am introduced to two of his friends, young students from Colorado U.
One has just graduated from Kelly Simmons’ Sustainable Practices course, the other loves having been an engineer in the Navy, solving water problems ecologically, BINGO! I find myself two young helpers for Lyons’ cause, to find CU partner with Jonathan Todd’s R&D Eco-Machine recommended conversion of a well outfitted, decommissioned Longmont Water Plant on a newly mapped-out Lyons Planning Area. My bringing JTED to Colorado last October reaches its next nexus for fundraising & forming a stakeholder team. Stay tuned...
